When any of your visitor browse your website, the browser of the visitor’s system will make a query to the nameserver.

In Internet world, computers don’t understand the web site address. They communicate using the Internet Protocol. Each computer has a unique IP address.

Nameservers simply transfer the domain name to IP address. So that computer can communicate using IP address.

Why NameServers are used?

You might be wondering that you can directly enter the IP address in the browser then why name servers are used?

IP address has a format like X.X.X.X where X can be any number from 0 to 255. Now think how many IP address can you remember? You can’t even remember a single IP address. However you can easily remember many domain names like Google.com, Yahoo.com, MSN.com etc..
