Register Domain Name in HostGator
Hostgator is a very well known company for providing web hosting. Registering domain name is a different thing than hosting. If you have a hostgator account and wondering how to register another domain using hostgator then this article is for you.
There are two options for the payment. You can register a domain using credit card or using PayPal.
Register Domain Name Using Credit Card
If you want to pay using credit card, it’s easy to register a domain. Just go to HostGator Domain Registration page and register a domain. You will be asked for the payment information there.
HostGator charges $15 per year per domain registration.
Register Domain Name Using PayPal
If you don’t want to give credit card information and want to register a domain using PayPal then procedure is bit different.
First send a payment to sales@hostgator.com from your PayPal account. If you want to register one domain for year, transfer $15. If you want to register two domains for a year then transfer $30.
Once payment is transferred, send HostGator a separate email to sales@hostgator.com . You need to include your PayPal transaction ID and domain names which you wish to register in your email.
HostGator For Domain Registration?
HostGator is good for web hosting service but for registering a domain name, I don’t recommend HostGator. The main reason for not going with HostGator is price.
Hostgator charges $15 per domain registration for a year. If you compare this price with other domain registrars, this price is bit higher. There are many domain registrars who register a domain just for $10.
Also if you want to go for private whois privacy, you will have to pay extra $10 for that if your domain is registered with HostGator. Other registrars giving free whois privacy.
So if you add this, you will get domain registration plus whois privacy at $25 with HostGator while you can get the same thing for $10 if you register a domain with other registrars like Name.com or DreamHost.com.
