How to Install WordPress on HostGator?
WordPress is a very well know web log platform in the internet industry. It is also available for free. All web hosting providers give a one click install facility for wordpress installation.
HostGator is not different. It also provides one click install for wordpress. If you want to install the wordpress on any of your hostgator hosted web site then just follow these simple instructions.
Install WordPress Using Fantastico
Fantastico is a program which integrates with the control panels like cPanel. Fantastico is used to install many well known web applications using control panel. All major hosting provider who use cPanel, also use Fantastico for one click installation.
Hostgator also gives one click wordpress installation using Fantastico. To install the wordpress on your web site, first login to cPanel. Go to Software/Services section and click on Fantastico De Luxe button.
After login to Fantastico, go to WordPress option.
To start a new wordpress installation, click on New Installation link. On the next page, you need to enter the details like on which domain you want to install wordpress, in which directory and what will be your username and password.
After filling the information, click on the Install WordPress button. On the next screen, you will be provided with the MySQL database information as well as your final URL for the blog.
Once you verify the details, click on Finish Installation button. And you are done.
Deleting WordPress
If you want to delete the wordpress installation, just go to Fantastico-> WordPress section. Delete the installation which you want to delete. That’s it. I doubt you will ever need to delete wordpress installation.
